Why?
Your identity on the internet is no longer a distant abstraction of yourself. It is very much a photocopy. Think about it. How much of what you do today in your life sits completely offline? Not much! Your friends are online, your money is too, you post every update of your life online, and it is where you buy your groceries, books, and appliances. It is actually harder to stay offline these days than it is to get online!
Everything you do online is a part of your identity. All the way from your buying habits to the connections you’ve made is all on the record.
You trust companies with your information that you’ve never heard of before and will probably forget about two days later. But they remember you. They keep your info locked in a database somewhere for years. Until one day….BOOM!!! A hacker bursts through the door and steals it from them. Puts it online for all his other hacker friends to use. That’s when it starts. Scams, Fraud, ENDLESS emails and phone calls from people trying to dupe you, or worse, sell you insurance. Sometimes, the hacker doesn’t even have to get involved. Those companies you trusted? Yes, the ones you forgot about. They’ll just sell your info straight up. To the highest bidder. To several low bidders. To EVERYONE who even thinks about bidding.
How?
It’s quite simple. There is info about you in the public domain obtained and published through legal means by data brokers and the like. Illegally by hackers and cybercriminals. This is the key risk. This info is USEFUL to a hacker. Trust us, we are them (Ethical ones, of course). So how do you tackle this? You need to do 5 things:
Step #1: Find out as soon as it happens.
Step #2: Determine what it is that has been exposed
Step #3: Determine what risk the exposed data poses
Step #4: Know what you need to do to fix it
Step #5: Fix it
For Steps #1 and #2: There are companies out there that monitor what hackers are leaking to the public and inform you if it includes info about you (here’s one I love).
But they don’t really cover much else, and as the old corporate adage goes: “Don’t bring me problems, bring me solutions.”

It’s quite simple, actually. We use several services and combine them with our own research to collate the exposures related to your personal identity and then recommend how you can fix them.
We cover any data about you that exists in the public domain and could pose a risk to your identity.
All we need from you is a few of “Hooks”, i.e. non-critical pieces of data. The way we operate, you don’t need to give us any details beyond the hook, but we will detect, report, and help you fix everything. That said, the more hooks you give us, the more accurate we get.
